The memorial is intended for ANY veteran who has served (living or deceased) or who is currently serving. Local residency is not required or applicable. Status of discharge is not required. This project is a joint effort of the American Legion Post 198, the City of Marion and area residents. The memorial includes a monument recognizing each branch of the armed forces and flag poles to display the colors of our nation. The location will also create a meditative setting for visitors to reflect and display their pride for our area veterans.
