It lies about 40 miles west of Green Bay, 45 miles southeast of Wausau, 45 miles northwest of Appleton and 40 miles northeast of Stevens Point. The Marion Pond is famous for trophy sized game fish as well as providing good catches of panfish. There are many top notch trout streams and thousands of acres of public hunting within minutes of Marion. Whitetailed deer, turkey, grouse, geese, ducks, rabbits and squirrels are the most plentiful game available. The City of Marion has a strong industrial base which leads to its economic diversity. Hours will be Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We will continue to offer curbside pick-up for patrons who wish to continue taking advantage of this service. We will observe the following temporary practices and limitations in order to keep our patrons and staff safe: Computer use is by 30-minute appointment only (please call to schedule your appointment). Congregating inside the library is not allowed, but feel free to visit with one another outside. Approximately 10 people will be allowed in the building at a time (this includes staff). Children and at-risk populations are discouraged from visiting the library at this time. Masks will be offered, but they are not required. Please use the hand sanitizer (provided) at entrance and exit. Maintain 6 ft. social distancing at all times. Use of the book drop is encouraged for returning items, but we will also have book return totes at multiple places in the library. Please limit your visit to browsing our collection, checking out your items, and then exiting the building. Library use is at-your-own risk; we cannot guarantee virus-free materials or equipment, but we will do our best to follow sanitizing procedures. The memorial is intended for ANY veteran who has served (living or deceased) or who is currently serving. Local residency is not required or applicable. Status of discharge is not required. This project is a joint effort of the American Legion Post 198, the City of Marion and area residents. The memorial includes a monument recognizing each branch of the armed forces and flag poles to display the colors of our nation. The location will also create a meditative setting for visitors to reflect and display their pride for our area veterans.
